YAKKA?
The word “Yakka” comes from an Aboriginal Australian term that means “work” or “hard work,” originating from the Yagara language. This concept perfectly aligns with the spirit of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where effort, discipline, and perseverance lead to growth and success.

The YAKKA Grappling Tournament follows the official International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) rules and regulations for both Gi and No-Gi divisions.

Who is eligible to compete?
The tournament is open to all Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, from beginners to experienced athletes, across all age groups and belt levels.
What should competitors bring?
All competitors must bring a valid form of identification and wear the correct competition attire. Those competing in Gi divisions must wear a regulation Gi, while No-Gi competitors should wear a rash guard and shorts.
Will there be food and drinks available at the venue?
Yes, food vendors will be present at the event, offering refreshments and meals throughout the day.
Can competitors change their weight division after registering?
Weight class adjustments can be made until a specified deadline before the event. Further details will be provided upon registration.
Registration and Fees
Competitors can secure their spot in the tournament by registering early. The registration fees are as follows:
• AU$60 Early bird registration at a discounted rate.
• AU$70 Standard registration available.
Spectators are also welcome, with tickets available for purchase. Children under a certain age may enter free of charge.
